Internal docs, without the writing

The internal documentation tool your engineers do not have to feed

Most documentation tools give you a nicer place to write. VizRepo writes the internal docs from your code and keeps them current, then puts them in the wiki your team already opens.

Set up in three steps

  • Connect a repository from GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, Azure DevOps or a self-hosted Git server. Read-only access is enough.
  • Click Scan. Endpoints, database schema and project facts are detected, then each endpoint is documented from its code.
  • Read the docs in VizRepo or sync them to Notion, Confluence, GitHub Wiki, Azure DevOps Wiki, GitBook or SharePoint.

What your team gets

  • For every endpoint: purpose, who calls it, business rules, step-by-step flow with file references, data read and written, external services, side effects and errors.
  • A business logic overview written for engineers and product people alike.
  • A data-access map: which endpoint touches which table, so you see the blast radius of a schema change.
  • User journeys, flowcharts and sequence diagrams built from real steps.
  • Onboarding, architecture, environment and deployment sections.
  • An Ask box that answers questions from the verified docs, with sources.

How projects benefit

  • New engineers become productive sooner because the system explains itself.
  • Knowledge stops living in one person's head, so holidays and resignations hurt less.
  • Product managers and support can check how a feature really works without interrupting an engineer.
  • Reviews and audits start from a current description of the system.
  • Refactors are safer when you can see every endpoint that reads or writes a table.

Easy to use, by design

  • No documentation syntax to learn, no templates to fill in.
  • No change to your workflow: merge as usual, the docs follow.
  • Edit any section by hand when you know better. Your edit is kept on every rescan.
  • Clear credit estimate before a scan, so there are no surprises.

Built for private code

  • Source code is cloned for the scan and deleted afterwards. It is never stored.
  • Access tokens are encrypted with AES-256-GCM.
  • Servers and database run in Frankfurt, Germany. A data processing agreement is available.

Questions

Which languages and frameworks are supported?
TypeScript and JavaScript (Express, NestJS, Remix), Python (FastAPI, Flask, Django), Java (Spring), C# (ASP.NET), Go (Gin, Echo, Fiber), PHP (Laravel) and Ruby (Rails).
Do we have to move our docs into VizRepo?
No. VizRepo syncs to Notion, Confluence, GitHub Wiki, Azure DevOps Wiki, GitBook and SharePoint, so the docs appear where your team already reads.
Can non-technical people use it?
Yes. Purposes, rules and journeys are written in plain language, and the Ask box answers questions like "what happens when a user deletes their account?".
How much does it cost?
Starter is free. Pro is $129 per month with a 14-day free trial, Team is $329 per month. Usage is metered in credits, and unchanged code costs nothing on rescans.

Try it on your own repository

Connect a repo, run one scan, and read what each endpoint does. Starter is free. Pro has a 14-day free trial.
