Confluence for engineering docs

The Confluence page was right in March. VizRepo keeps it right.

Most engineering teams live in Confluence and most of its technical pages are out of date. VizRepo does not replace Confluence. It writes the engineering pages from the code and updates them on every merged pull request.

Why Confluence pages go stale

  • Writing docs is nobody's task, so it happens at project end, once.
  • The code changes weekly; the page does not.
  • Readers stop trusting any page older than a quarter, so nobody reads them.

What VizRepo adds

  • Every endpoint documented by reading its handler and the code it calls: purpose, business rules, steps with file references, data read and written, external services, errors.
  • Every cited file verified against the repository.
  • Re-documented only where code changed on each merged pull request, with a Recent Changes entry.
  • Synced to Notion, Confluence, GitHub Wiki, Azure DevOps Wiki, GitBook or SharePoint.
  • Public pricing: free Starter, Pro $129 with a 14-day trial, Team $329.

How the sync works

  • Connect Confluence Cloud with OAuth or an API token; Data Center via token.
  • Choose the space and parent page.
  • Each scan updates the generated pages and adds the Recent Changes entry. Human-written pages are untouched.
  • Diagrams and tables render natively.

Questions

Do we have to leave Confluence?
No. VizRepo writes into Confluence, so generated pages sit next to the pages your team wrote by hand and stay current without anyone editing them.
Is my source code stored?
No. The repository is cloned for the scan and deleted afterwards. A self-hosted option is available.
Do you support Confluence Data Center?
Yes, with an API token. Confluence Cloud connects with OAuth.

Try it on your own repository

Connect a repo, run one scan, and read what each endpoint does. Starter is free. Pro has a 14-day free trial.
